Background: The Garden Pals is a kid-friendly online destination designed to nurture curiosity, kindness, and a love for nature. The Garden Pals blends joyful storytelling with education.
Challenges: 1) Engage young-ones with simple gardening concepts, and simplify educational content for short attention spans. 2) Show pictures for the visual learners (me) 3) And show where food comes from in four magical stages. 4) I also applied a little “vibe-coding” to make the content more engaging for kids and kids at heart. (I only broke my site once!)
The visual style is retro-kawaii, a familiar, risk-free option to use with AI for content and games. My right hand was recovering so I needed the extra help. It was also very fun learning CSS to refine the code to work with this platform.
